I have been following along. We had a tramatic accident happen in our family this last year and reading your blogs bring back all of the unexplainable emotions of ICU. So many prayers going up for Clay and family. What a wonderful day to be getting out of ICU! Thank you for keeping all of us up to date on Clay's progress. We appreciate it. No words that I say can change anything but just know how many are thinking of you and praying for you that don't even know you personally. I'm sure he is more than ready. Hopefully the ENT will find an answer soon. We are all so happy that you guys are moving out of the BICU but what a transition that will be. A little scary, but a big step in the right direction. Prayers are still going up to God in hopes that all will be even better in the days to come. You guys have been through so much and we hope you all are getting plenty of rest. Maybe the anxiety level will go down a notch or two for you guys. We look forward to another day of exciting news and many more new things for Clay to accomplish. We have all the FAITH in the world for a full recovery and we know he has the "fite" in him to make it all happen. Congratulations Clay on this next move in the right direction.
Steve, Paige and EmmaSteve, Paige and Emmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10104298589501178479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6623882953855456300.post-20132572040961699412009-05-22T17:23:32.945-05:002009-05-22T17:23:32.945-05:00I don't usually comment, but I've been a silent lu...I don't usually comment, but I've been a silent lurker on your blog for sometime now. Wonderful news! Prayers will be for his good report from ENT and a smooth trip to that hospital and to his new room. I know I always felt better if my mother was close and got better just because she was near. This should help Clay as well. I also know I felt better whe I was close to my little ones when they were sick. So you may even relax a little. It can be a little scary the first few hours after moving from the safe cocoon of BICU where you have one on one attention, but they only take that step when you are ready, so GO CLAY!!! We'll be praying for quick answers on the vomitting issue and an exceptional next day on the way to discharge.
Blessings,
Mel and Brian BirdwellMel Birdwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00122081228377435920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6623882953855456300.post-78073478518982063772009-05-21T23:18:56.933-05:002009-05-21T23:18:56.933-05:00What AWESOME NEWS!!!! I imagine Clay will be going home...Yeah for Kermit. I imagine Clay will be going home pretty soon too. Probably before you think he will. I'm glad they called the ENT because I bet that he can figure out something to do away with a lot of the vomiting or at least help figure out why it is occurring. Just having you all with Clay will help with the vomiting and pain though. I'm sure that it has caused him great stress for you all not be able to stay with him all the time. Stress makes your stomach upset even when nothing is wrong with you and anxiety makes your pain level higher. When Clay gets a round the clock dose of you all, I bet you see a huge improvement in his overall condition. Who will be more glad - Clay or Mom and Dad? :) We're a little sad that Clay won't have Kermit there, but we're glad for Kermit and look forward to the day Clay will go home too! Might be hard to say goodbye to the great staff in BICU, but hope you find more like them in the regular room. Our hearts are happy as we read your post tonight. So, I guess God feels it's time. I will continue to pray the vomiting is resolved and that this transition goes well. Today I was at the park with Annie and she stopped in the middle of the park and said, "We need to pray for Clay." So she did right there by the swings. She said, "I know he is gonna be just fine, Mama." So, if she said it, it's true!! Love you all, rest well, I am sure you will get less when you are sleeping in his room!
