Tuesday, March 3
Today was a rather quiet day in Clay's room. During our early morning visit, we said good morning to Clay and he started crying and reached for us. We were able to console him and he went back to sleep. Clay has been breathing, without the help of the respirator, since 3:00am (18 hours today on his own). Clay seemed to be sleeping well during most of our visits today. The physical & occupational therapist worked with him between visiting hours. The nurse took her time with his wound care this morning (2 hrs). By the time we stepped into his room at 11:00am, he had fresh gauze (dressing) on and was sleeping. We exercised his fingers during one visiting hour. Otherwise, we tried not to disturb him much today. He had a busy day yesterday and with surgery tomorrow, the downtime was welcome today. His surgery is scheduled for the 2nd surgery of the day. Thanks again for prayers & thoughts that are sent our way. Good night, sleep tight (this is what we say to Clay each night).

You are doing an awesome job with Clay. I'm sure that he really looks forward to having you come in in the mornings. Even though asleep, I'm sure he knows that you are there and near. Pray and hope that tomorrow will be a great day for Clay and the family. I always sing a little song to the grandsons as I put them to bed that says Night, Night, Sleep tight, see you in the morning, Night night, I love you, see you in the morning. I will also think of Clay now when I sing that song, knowing that his parents are feeling the same way.

Dear Fite Family,
ReplyDeleteEach night our kiddos are praying for Clay and are thrilled to get the updates on his progress each day. God is an AWESOME God and He is with each of you, knows your needs and is lifting you up. On our way to school this morning, we added another "little" prayer as the kids call it for Clay's surgery. Sending you hugs and good thoughts!

I pray the surgery was ok today. I get up every morning and read his up date. Sometime I might just sent and cry or I will rejoice when I see good news. Prayers are being answered all over the world for you. Hunter came home and said mom when I got on the bus this morning Cody came and set with me. She gave him a big hug. That made her day. Just want you to know we are think and praying about you.
