Friday, April 10

Hello to all! Sorry for the late posting tonight. Clay was asleep during all our visits today, except one. At our 11:00am visit, we walked into Clay's room and saw Easter eggs hidden. The childlife specialist had brought some eggs for Kermit & Clay. They each hunted eggs in their rooms. Clay was on his back, and when we sat him up he spotted the eggs. He wanted off the bed to go get them. Mandy (Physical therapist) held him under one arm, and I held the other arm. He was able to get the ones that were at his level. When he spotted one down low, he would move his eyes toward it and we would pick it up for him. We sat him in a big chair and opened his eggs. We sat the toys on a table in front of him and asked what he wanted to play with. He did not play with any of the toys because he was fast asleep. The little bit of walking wore him out. He slept the rest of the afternoon and was still asleep during our last visit. A few times he motioned for us to fan him but fell back to sleep. There is another 5 yr. old in the burn unit. He has a room between Kermit and Clay. It was quiet in their rooms this afternoon while they were all taking a nap. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks to all of you!

  1. And Happy Easter to all of you as well. I stayed up for you! No, I was doing some other research. God bless you all as you rest tonight.
He'll be up all night watching over Clay...and Missy will be praying as well as others. I like her outlook on praying at night while you all sleep. She said it gave her peace when Annie was injured and I see where she is coming from on that one. Love and prayers tonight, Carolyn

  2. Carolyn knows me well. I was waiting up for the posting tonight. My husband had already turned off the computer and had gone to bed, so I had to reboot and start everything fresh to find out how my Clay was doing. So glad to hear he got to hunt some eggs! Maybe he will have some more energy tomorrow. I hate to hear there is another 5 year old there. I will be praying for them too. She is right, I still am on call. I have really felt at peace the past 2 nights. I have still prayed, but have felt that God was working some miracle in Clay's body. Maybe that is the reason for all of the sleeping. Well, I do hope all of you sleep well tonight! Love to your whole family! Hope Cody and Carson can have some fun this weekend. I know they are missing all of you! Blessings! Missy and family

  4. DeeDee and Chance small miracles (hunting eggs) are wonderful. Each time I look at our Kaleb I continually pray for your Clay. Today Kaleb had his Fite shirt on and he was so proud he could do it for Miss DeeDee and Clay. I know that God still is in the miracle business. He sees and hears each one of our prayers. None left unheard.. Much love and prayers for a great weekend. The Ben Kee family

  7. It sounds like Clay is making progress from the set back of last week. I am glad he was able to get up and walk some. The therapists and staff sound like they know how to make therapy appeal to the kids. Happy Easter to all of you!
