Sunday, May 3rd
Hello to everyone. Clay had a good day. He is much more alert and sometimes becomes frustrated when we cannot understand what he needs or wants. He slept late this morning. When Deidra and I returned from meeting he was in his chair and preparing to take a trip to the play room in the Acute Care Burn Unit. Arne had him ready to make the trip so we all went over together. He had a nice time but he was extremely disappointed that they did not have the Wi hooked up on Sunday. We were amazed that he remembered this because it had only been mentioned to him a couple of times. He was very clear in mouthing the word Wi to his mother and I. Upon returning to the BICU he went down and counted a few airplanes. As we prepared to leave one of the nurses went to the freezer and pulled out a box of Popsicles. Clay picked strawberry and we were told he ate the entire thing. Thanks to Arne and Bonnie. His nurse has an I phone with several kids games loaded on it. Clay played with it non stop until Arne finally had to go to work and do his nursing duties. We see improvements each day and we are thankful. Deidra, Grandma, and the boys went to Olney tonight. This will be only be the third time Mom has been home since the accident. Please continue to pray for Clays recovery. Thanks to everyone for all the gracious help.

Whoohoo, I feel like I hit the lottery! I don't think I have ever been the first to post a comment! Well, that is unless someone beats me to it as I am writing! ;o) I am so excited to hear that Clay had a good day! Shame on them for not having the Wii hooked up for him, of course he would remember that! It was one of Annie's favorite therapies!! I hope he gets to play tomorrow! I am going to pray that sweet DeeDee sleeps really well tonight! I know Carson and Cody will be happy to have her with them tonight. Each day that passes is one day closer to the day when Clay will get to go home too! Love to you all! Missy
ReplyDeleteSounds like Clay felt better today and more energetic than he has yet since the accident! We're glad today was good. We hope this week will continue along the same lines. Thinking of you five as you part again for the week. It must be hard each time. Sending our thoughts and care, Morgan and Michelle
ReplyDeleteThis should be a really good week for each of you! It won't be that much longer until school is out and then maybe the boys can be closer together. I know things will work out. Keep up the good work Clay!!!! Which Wii game is your fav?

Yesteday's report seems so upbeat and what a delight that is. The wii should be a sure tool therapy when the time comes. And the popsicle - what great news. We love you all, Dawn & Pam
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to read that Clay is making these improvements!! It sounds like you had a good weekend overall! Yea!! Our thoughts are with you as a new week starts, and hope for a good one for all of you!!
ReplyDeleteFun is awesome. You all better rest up because when Clay gets a little better, it will take every one of you to keep up with him and all the things that he will do. During all these sleepless agonizing nights, little Clay has had a lot of nap time. Imagine a 5 year old after a really long nap. He is going to make up for all the lost play time. Instead of being the little boy that doesn't want to get out of hospital bed, he may be the little boy that you have a hard time keeping in it. In addition to having God, family and everything, Clay is also the baby of the family. The baby usually has a special power and determination that comes from always being the little guy. Be prepared to be amazed. God Bless
ReplyDeleteWhat welcome news! I am thankful for Clay's obvious and encouraging improvement! He is improving all the time but sometimes it just shows more than at others. And yes, school is almost over and I know Carson and Cody will enjoy more trips to Parkland and being together as a family. Love and prayers to you all, Carolyn
ReplyDeleteI agree with all the comments above, of course he would remember, these kids are smart! I am so glad to hear of his good day. It does sound like a lot of improvement. I will continue to lift your family up in prayer.
